LUD of La Riviere invites your to come join us as we celebrate and watch the spring migration of amazing hawks and eagles through Manitoba’s scenic Pembina Valley. Whether you are a seasoned birder or just curious about the hobby, bring your binoculars, a camera and dress for the weather. Or join others indoors, this is your opportunity to learn more about raptors. Browse through the educational displays presented by Prairie Wildlife Rehabilitation Centre, Wildlife Haven Rehabilitation Centre, Burrowing Owl Recovery Project, Turtle Mountain CDC’s International Adventure Trail – Birding, Bird Studies Canada, MB Breeding Bird Atlas, Pembina Valley Conservation District, A Rocha Pembina Valley, Travel Manitoba, Pembina Manitou CDC, and Central Plains Pembina Valley Tourism, all with the support of Golden West Radio and Princeton University Press. Get up close and personal and gaze into the eyes of real live raptors that have become ambassadors and along with their handlers, are willing to answer all of your questions. Enjoy a Photo Contest (with great prizes) an display: This years theme is Feathered Friends and features two categories: raptors and non-raptors. Other highlights include kids’ activities, guided walking tours, food concession, door prizes and much more.
